I'm a bit the same - there are fandoms I love but would never read or write fic for.
And I completely agree with you on Stargate fic - you'd think with such a long running tv show there wouldn't need to be so many 'missing moments' but what I love about the show (the characters) aren't always explored and their issues aren't always resolved. There's nothing like a good Stargate tag to pick up the slack where the writers left off.
Not that i'm disparaging them, of course. I understand that with a sci-fi action based show, of course the plot is going to come first. But sometimes those quiet missing or after-episode moments in fic are just so much more satisfying.
