Mixed bag

Saw Cars tonight. It was ... enjoyable. Apart from that, I'm not completely sure about my opinion of it, it just seemed off in a few places, but I freely admit that I was not in the right mood to really appreciate it. Actually, I think my biggest dislike was the girlfriend - I spent the entire movie feeling like she'd been transplanted from any one of 2567 other movies, there was nothing individual about her. But I loved the 'car-ified' scenes running over the credits. And the mechanic/pit crew cars were cute.

Fandom-wise, the MsScribe saga is up and (mostly) complete. I'm surprised by the amount of class that everyone is showing about this, since it had the potential to get wankier than than anything else I've ever seen. Politeness (and apologies) abounds on all sides. I haven't paid so much attention to the HP fandom in a long time, it's interesting to see who's still around and who's not, as well as watching people's reactions.

It looks like Stargate Season 9 is actually going to be shown in Australia sometime in the next few months. They may even get started before the DVDs come out :) Apparently, Atlantis isn't scheduled yet.

Also - work sucks.

I thought the whole point was the featured car wasn't a ferrari? And Luigi-car was disappointed.

Just to stop the Ferrari discussion on my LJ - the main Car is not a Ferrari, but there is A Ferrari. But only for a few minutes, so go_the_brumbies should be able to cope.

I loved the animation in Cars - the little car flies and the like. And of course, the most entertaining end credits i've seen in a while. But I thought it was too long - the middle really dragged for me.

But Stargate! *salivates* 29th of June, I think I heard?

Yeah, the middle did drag, especially since the 'moral' was about as subtle as a two-by-four to the back of the head. 'Slow down and smell the roses!' *WHACK* 'Life was better back then' *SMACK* 'Slow down' *THUMP*. I'm surprised I didn't have a lump on the back of my head by the time it was over.
