An exercise in patience

In an attempt to fulfil this month's goal of being more motivated, I bought an exercise bike today. This particular one was chosen partly on the basis of the salesperson's assurances that it was easy to assemble (and partly because the cheaper one was sold out). HAH.

After bringing the home the box and dragging it up the stairs (which by itself probably fulfilled my exercise quota for the next month), [profile] bob_ette and I opened it up and started assembling. Over an hour later, we have one functioning exercise bike - however, we also have 4 left over screws, and the console/computer screen section of said bike is currently being held on by a section of packaging wrapped around the face and the upright. It looks like an 80's aerobic instructor. *sigh*

And yes, we did follow the instructions, dammit!

I don't think the seat will go down that far...

I'm still gonna play with it!

...if I can pry K away from it when we come over...

Typical. You don't want to come visit me, but suddenly everyone want to visit my exercise bike.

I should have bought one years ago

I visit you! :D

Is this Saturday on at your place again?

Sure, unless you want to do/organise something different *shrugs* I'm not fussed.

Are the screws spares? Or somehow ill-designed to attach the monitor to the bike? Four whole screws, it seems unlikely.

Still, home exercise bike. Cool.

I suspect they were just screws that were used to hold the packaging in place (yes, some of the packaging was screwed to the frame) rather than something that was supposed to be used. Well, I hope so, anyway.
