Oh dear...

Right. Got my copy of DH, and am all set to spend the day reading it.

But... I opened up the cover and saw this gem on the dust jacket:

'... confirms the author as a mistress of storytelling...'

*snort* Perhaps someone should tell them that master and mistress aren't always interchangeable.

And this is the dust jacket. Oh dear. *shakes head*

LOL. Have fun reading!
(And then let me borrow it in two weeks when I'm back... ^__-)

[identity profile] lyore.livejournal.com 2007-07-21 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Of course!

(Up to page 500 - so far, so good.)

Oh good! I'm hoping it doesn't all turn out with anding I dislike. The "Tomorrow When the War Began" series was that way for me, which is why I won't buy them :P

[identity profile] lyore.livejournal.com 2007-07-21 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yes - I haven't even finished reading the end of that series.

(250 pages, not too bad, Ron is being a pratt)

[identity profile] cloverfizz.livejournal.com 2007-07-21 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't that like Ron's sole purpose? :P (very TIC there)

[identity profile] lyore.livejournal.com 2007-07-21 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
OI! I like Ron, he is much undervalued.
Just for that, maybe I won't lend you the book :P

*blinks*

How did you get that so early?

Hee, mistress. Who would be the cuckolded wife?

[identity profile] lyore.livejournal.com 2007-07-21 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Went down to the shops a little after nine in the morning and bought it :) Midnight GMT is 9am here, so it's all very convenient. There has to be some advantages to living in Australia!

I'm not sure... who'd be the most prominent female author around these days, apart from JKR?

[livejournal.com profile] psuedoskribe dissed me when I said I wanted to pick up a copy before work.

So here I am, still with no copy. I won't be able to go on the internet next week :(

[identity profile] lyore.livejournal.com 2007-07-21 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
Why on earth did you listen to her?

[identity profile] necromage.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
... Because she's my sister...? And also because I ran out of time before work to go to one of the malls. I was hoping either she or mom would pick up a copy since I couldn't, but as usual with those two, no dice :(

[identity profile] lyore.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
This is why I make it a point to never listen to my sister on matters like these :P

You should have bribed them, or stolen something and held it hostage until they procured one for you :)

(Have you looked today? You should be able to get a copy from Big W or somewhere, even if the bookshops are sold out)

ROFLMFAO.

If the general non-spoilery responses are anything to go by, I wonder if that's how people are going to remember her, as a mistress of storytelling; adulterous flirt.

[identity profile] lyore.livejournal.com 2007-07-21 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
I've just finished, and it really isn't anywhere near as bad as I expected.

She may be a flirt, but I think she might have come through in the end...
