Happy 30th Birthday, Star Wars

Well, I couldn't let this day pass without comment, could I?

A couple of Star Wars flavoured links for you:

Death Star Convention Centre. Hopefully their Death Star survives longer than the first two...

Star Wars Fan charged with possessing an unregistered firearm How can a replica of Han Solo's Blaster be an unregistered firearm? It doesn't even fire!

Non-Star Wars related, but a complete classic anyway - [personal profile] carmarthen's The Trouble with Mad Scientists. Cause it's James Bond vs Velociraptors, and we all need more of that!

And LJ? If you eat this post, any more of my comments, or refuse to load other pages, I'll have [profile] carmathen set her velociraptors on you. Seriously. CUT IT OUT.

These aren't the logic the police are looking for.

Do you know how many times I tried to reply to that comment you made in [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s journal? God, LJ was being such a bitch yesterday.

I know. And today's probably been worse, for me.

I got notification of [personal profile] amethyste5's comment, but when I went to this entry I saw yours and [personal profile] seldear's as well.

Hee - I finally got the notification for this comment! Only a little bit late, LJ!

Yippy! I'll pull out the lightsaber for this! (Did I mention the part about my husband being the most awesome husband in the history of ever and actually buying me the purple lightsaber I've dreamed of since the day I found out the color was determined by the focusing crystal and decided mine would be an amethyst? It's on the mantel, it rules.)

One of the Force FX ones? That's so cool!

I don't have one yet - I'm hoping to pick one up cheap(er) at Supernova (con in Sydney) this year.

Yep, my x-mas gift year before last. I can't even express how cool my hubby and my gift are! (Oh, and Munchkin got one of those plastic telescoping ones, in purple, in her stocking the same year.)

I am so jealous! I've never been to a con, oh well, maybe someday!

I went last year and am planning on going again this year (as long as work doesn't through a spanner in the works). Supernova is a 'Pop Culture' con, effectively both anime and sci-fi.

I go mostly for the merchandising (a couple of the larger comic-n-figurine stores sell their stuff discounted), and to look at all the people wandering around in costume. But last year I did get to go to a panel with Colin Cunningham, which increased my (already strong) love of Major Davies tenfold.
