Supernatural 4x01

WOW. Just WOW. THIS is what I've been waiting for.

One of my biggest problems with the last season was the overall lack of movement towards the overarching multi-season story arc. But this season... finally, it seems like we are getting to the core of the mythology. And it's starting with a bang.

Plus, we finally get to see Sam consciously, willingly using his powers. After a three seasons of build up, it was worth the wait. Go morally-ambiguous!Sam.

So much to love about this episode:
- Bobby. Awesome.
- Pam. Loved her. Someone please tell me they have already started the Pam-fic.
- Castiel. Really liked that he is, essentially, possessing someone (and there better be fic on that, too). and OMG WINGS!! I also liked that Dean still isn't 'special' - his 100% un-'special'ness is, too me, one of the key characteristics of the show, and I like that they keep that even after the resurrection. (Plus, Castiel was hot. Although did the character design remind anyone else of Constantine?)

Slightly-less-good:

- Ruby. I'm glad she's still 'alive', but while I really loved the idea and character of Ruby, there was always something ... off in the portrayal, a certain stiffness, stitledness. I'd put it down to the actress, but it seems to have carried over into the 'new' Ruby. Now I'm wondering if it is her role as 'exposition girl' (she shows up and talks, leaves), or maybe just the direction. Or maybe it is just me. Hmm.

Anyway, awesome new episode - can't wait until next week. Been a long time since I've been this excited about SPN - it's a nice feeling.

(My new hope is that Ruby gets played by a new person every time, as a trick for keeping Dean off of her/his scent. I think that would be COOL.)

I was telling Hubby, "Sam chose to be the wingman", Hubby was baffled by this random comment until I explained, Sam could've picked Han or Luke, but he chose to be Wedge, Luke's (infinitely cooler) wingman. Sam still, deep down, views himself as the wingman, not the leader. How cool is our show when even random funny bits are alos deep and meaningful?

YES! Of course, the rational part of my brain also says it's because Han or Luke's names would be recognised by even the dimmest of phone companies. But I know have a vision of the two of them working their way through the names all the X-wing pilots whenever they need to change phones.

When they mentioned Wedge, I thought of you :)

Haven't watched it yet even though I've been on a completely random Supernatural kick this week - I'm blame you guys mentioning it was returning this week :) I only noticed this morning it was available (I don't go on the Net during the week; OD on computer-ness at work...) so I'll get it tonight if the new RAM I bought to day works... :D

I think we may need to arrange a squee party ;D

At work. BTW, am working on those Star Wars links for you - only problem is I keep stopping to read the stories, and they are all very long, so I only get about one story done a night. But they are coming, I promise.

Yeah, that occured to me after I wrote the post. Thanks for that and don't worry about the delay - bought SWFU last night so I might be on the computers anyway ;D (although I heard it's only about 8 hours of gameplay...)

I saw a review of that game last night. Graphics looked pretty cool, although the main character seemed like a total Gary Stu.

LOL;; It's getting very mixed reviews, but I enjoyed the demo and felt like playing a new game so why not :) Actually, from what I've been reading from the gamers, they've actually liked the story, but feel the gameplay is sub par.

I have installed new RAM and it is awesome!

But just realised there was a whole email account I completely forgot about - loaded up Thunderbird 'cos the comp can now handle it and it spat out a bucket load of broken link reports for the site - oops! >.<

That's the idea ^^ Hasn't worked this week - still working on SWFU inbetween headaches (I'm starting to suspect it induces headaches...), but as soon as that one's finished - here's hoping! I just need to NOT buy that new Lego Batman game... >_o

I think there will be mass file swapping very soon. It's always fun :)
