Well, I'm back in the land of ultra-fast internet connection, so expect spam in your friends lists again. At the moment, I am killing time before a lecture, so I thought I would take the time to do one final update on the thesis.

Finished. Or, more precisely, the seminar is over. Apart from some minor (major) technical glitches, all was good. I'm not going into details, cause most of you were either a)there or b) have since listened to me bitch about it.

Mostly, the point of this update is list the unofficial (but far more truthful) thesis acknowledgments, which I promised Bob/ette I would get around to doing eventually. So, here it is -

LYORE'S UNOFFICIAL ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Bob/ette, my Dad, the Porcupine boy ( :)), the Tamster and [profile] __happy__ for reading the damn thing for me. Thanks heaps, guys. (And yes, that page WAS meant to be blank!)

My parents, bailing me out from bankruptcy AGAIN

The Ursies crowd, for providing timely distractions via iChat. Particularly Pharaoh, for sharing my thesis pain, and Porcupine boy, for lending me the installers for word so I could fix the damn program.

[personal profile] necromage, who helped with (read: drew) some of the pictures for my seminar (Of course, these are the ones which didn't work...)

Of course, there's always [profile] psuedoskribe, [personal profile] wolfwarrior, and [profile] auril who had to put up with me and my increasing stressedness. Don't worry guys, I still have heaps to stress over.

All my fave authors, for providing many hours of wonderful reading. And the guys who put season 9 on the internet, and then onto the network - you all rock too.

And finally, the wonderful people at livejournal, for creating such a convenient procrastination tool.

THE WOODEN SPOON

Definitely going to Bill Gates and his microsoft crap clogging up my computer. Was it a coincidence that my powerpoint screwed up? I think not. I'm telling you, that man is out to get me.

Well, just finished ordering the second season of Hogan's Heroes and The Pretender from amazon. Should be here in a few weeks. But while I was browsing, guess what I discovered? The third season of Sliders has been released in America, but not here. That sucks. Also, you can get the Angel soundtrack, which also hasn't been released here, (as far as I know). Not Fair.

It's also cheaper to order old Stargate seasons from america, shipping and all, than it is to buy them here, even on sale.

I never thought I'd actually say this but - I wish I lived in america *sigh*

Oh, and for [personal profile] necromage, the details about the Aussie release of Atlantis, from EzyDVD -

Stargate - Atlantis: Season 1 (Box Set) (779170)
Coming Soon! Pre-Order Now - Available Wednesday, 16 November 2005
$AU84.95 (inc GST)

A new gate will open. A lost city will rise again.

A secret group of scientists have discovered the location of the famous lost city of Atlantis, but it's not on Earth. It's located in another galaxy altogether, the Pegasus galaxy. Stargate Atlantis, a spin-off from the highly successful Stargate SG-1 series, follows a multinational scientific and military group, lead by Diplomat Dr. Elizabeth Weir (played by actress Torri Higginson), headed on a one way trip to Atlantis. Their mission: to investigate the secrets of Atlantis, a city now known to have been built by ancient powerful beings, and bring whatever they discover back to Earth. They will be all on their own, with no means to return, with no means of rescue or support, unless they can find the technology they need in Atlantis to return them to Earth.
