Clone Wars OTP
Nov. 16th, 2005 12:32 amI believe I promised people thoughts on Clone Wars. Well, here they are.
First off, I believe I mentioned these cartoons are absolutely hilarious? Well, they are. The plot, the drawings, the occasional dialogue - all bloody funny. Generally I think the whole EU thing was a mistake (apart from the first Zahn trilogy, where I can actually recognise the characters), but this I liked. It's even better when watching with other hyper Star Wars fans.
Not only was the entire thing one of the funniest things I have seen in years, it also introduces one of the coolest characters in the Star Wars Universe - ARC Red Commander guy. It's a damn shame that a character so cool has no name (well, not that I can find - if he has one, let me know).
Did I mention this guy was cool - two blasters at once, a bid-arse gun-thingy, and a SKIRT. You know you are a macho, butch Stormtrooper commando when you can wear (and fight) in a skirt. And this guy wears his skirt while holding off armies, and displaying agility and reflexes which would put a Jedi to shame. Not to mention that the whole group of them painted the front of their troop carrier.
This guy needs his own fanclub. Who's in?
( Why Obi-Wan/ARC Red Commander is my new OTP )
Unfortunately, due to studio interference (either due to pressure from GL or fear of antagonising thousands of rabid Anakin/Obi-wan shippers) Red Commander's screen time was drastically cut in the second volume. *sigh* He does make a few brief appearances, being kick-arse as usual, clubbing the oncoming droid armies with his massive macho gun.
Love it.
Random Observation of the Day: Subtext - It's everywhere! GET IT OFF ME!!!
Edit - It occurs to me now, that in a past life, I may have been a Harmonian...
