Australian Super What?
Nov. 30th, 2006 11:11 pmBackground: XXXX is a brand of australian beer. It's very popular up in the Northen Territory and Queensland.
Setting: Darwin, NT
Story: A recently immigrated canadian engineer is driving around Darwin with his new boss, an officer in the RAAF. The canadian notices all these large signs on buildings advertising 'XXXX'. The canadian turns to his boss and askes innocently: 'What's XXXX? Is that some kind of Australian Super-Porn?'
Luckily, his boss had a sense of humour.
Of course, we then developed a scale: 'XX' was American Porn, 'XXX' was Canadian Porn, and 'XXXX' was, off course, Australian Super!Porn.
I think it sounds like some kind of superhero. 'Look, over there! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's SuperPorn!'
(For those of you who don't know, the REAL reason that it's called XXXX is because Queenslander's can't spell 'Beer' *g*)
