Mar. 16th, 2006 07:22 pmFirstly,
bob_ette now has a livejournal. Go say hi :) Oh, and for the Battlestar fans reading this, I recommend checking out
cloverfizz's icons. Some very nice stuff. I am both jealous and inspired, which may be a dangerous combination.
Secondly, my boxes/stuff have both arrived and been unpacked (after some drama, a broken bookshelf and a lot of bruises). Now the place looks like mine, in the sense that it is filled with books and DVDs.
Thirdly, I should be getting broadband sometime next week. How I Count the Days...
Fourthly, (is that a word?) the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games was pretty awful. And I'm the kind of person who generally likes that sort of thing. The flying tram was kinda cool, though.
And now, on to the interesting stuff. Or not.
For
necromage, Timothy Zahn talks bout "Outbound Flight" here. I will get around to reading it soon, I promise :)
I made an Astroboy icon. *points to icon* It should be flashing, but I suspect it isn't. *pokes icon* Wait, I think it is. No, now it seems to have stopped. Hmmm.
In fact, given the lack of internet, I have been spending far to much quality time with photoshop. Which means, when I get broadband, expect to be spammed with images, both of the icon and the wallpaper variety. That's alright, you're tough, I'm sure you can take it :)
Saw Les Mis. Apparently, this was the version with added Zombies! Which was a little distracting, but apart from the fact that the dead people had a habit of wandering slowly around the stage, it was very good. Consistently impressive singers across the cast. Dragged
wolfwarrior along. Which lead to interesting conversations before the show, going something like this...
Her - So, what is this about, anyway?
Me - A bunch of people. Pretty much, they all die.
Her - Oh. What actually happens?
Me - Basically -Sing, sing, angst, die, angst, sing, sing, angst, sing, angst, die, die, die, die, die, angst, sing, die.
Her - Oh
But I think she enjoyed it anyway.
On the Sci-fi front, now have all of Stargate SG-1, up to and including Season 8. My budget is glad, because this is one less series for me to impulse-buy.
And this is getting rather long, so I think I may stop now.
Random Observation of the Day - Valjean is a tenor. A TENOR, I tell you!

Date: 2006-03-19 07:51 am (UTC)I want to see any results of your inspired/envious state! And there's no such thing as too much time spent playing in Photoshop!
That astro boy icon is vastly cute!
Timothy Zahn book... Must now go to store and buy...
