Hello, people *waves madly to all her new friends*

In honour of all the new people on my flist, I feel like I should say something profound, or at least Star Wars-focused.

....

Nope, nothing's coming to me. Sorry.

In fact, I really have nothing at all interesting to say, I just figured I should say hi to everyone. But I will share the random musing which has been bugging me for the last few days - No, honestly, I really want to know. There's 'frell', 'frack', 'fragg'. I can't think of a Star Wars one off the top of my head, but that must be because it is to PG for hardcore sci-fi 'f'-word swearing :)

I want a Sci-fi swearword which starts with 'J'. Anyone?

Also, good luck to all the people on my flist who have job interviews in the next few days. Reading through, it's been like an epidemic of potential employment (but in a good way, of course). Hmmm... hopefully none of them are going for the same job. But anyway, Good Luck, all!

RL note - for those of you who haven't got the email about the housewarming, let me know.

(This update proudly brought to you by the letter 'F')

Hi! I think I've heard of some of those sci-fi swear words, but I can't even remember from where (I know it was from a tv show they have on nowadays but my brain's drawn a blank).

'Frell' is Farscape (which sadly is no longer with us *sob*) and 'Frack' is Battlestar Galatica. 'Fragg' ... actually, I can't remember which one that's from at the moment. *hangs head in shame* I blame lack of sleep.

"fragg" = Babylon 5. And maybe others, but that's the one I know.

What about "smeg" from Red Dwarf?

Thanks. Yeah, can't forget 'smeg' - I'd heard that word so many times before I had even seen Red Dwarf, I don't even associate it with Sci-fi anymore :)

I have no email!
Are you not inviting your own sister to your housewarming?

Date: 2006-03-21 02:09 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] psuedoskribe.livejournal.com
That's ok, the general invitation says "if you know her come along with munnies" so you're invited by default.

Emphasis on the 'with munnies' for you, [profile] bob_ette

Besides, blame [personal profile] necromage for the lack of invites, she sent them out for me. Which is why delegation is a good thing - makes it easy to pass the buck :)

How about "joojooflop" from Hitchhiker's Guide"? :D

That's all I got.

Wohoo! A 'J' word! Thanks - it was bugging me.

Well, there is the all purpose 'sith' and it's many variations. One book I read used 'vulk', which I adopted into my everyday language. :) Here is a nifty list.

Thanks! Hmm, according to that list, 'S' is far and away the most popular. Not too suprising when you think about it, I guess.

But 'F' is next. From that list, looks like 'F' is very Farscape... Frell, Frek, Fahbot, frelnik.

*waves*

I, being terribly uncreative/unresourceful, cannot think of a single scifi swear word, let alone one that starts with J. WOE. :P

*waves back*

That's all right, neither could I. Luckily for us, [personal profile] deirdre_c has a better memory (or, you know, just knows more :P)

Hello! There's always 'Kriff' or 'Kriffing' for Star Wars. 'K' is a pretty underdeveloped letter as far as swearing goes...

Maybe we should start a society for underused letters in swear words :) We could include 'K', 'J' ... um, can't think of anything which starts with 'A'...

Umm... All I can think of is all the Buffy characters yelling 'Xander!' at different times. Well, they say it like a swearword :)

Can I have a lollipo anyway?
