Feb. 28th, 2007 06:46 pmWell, that was a slightly longer than usual gap between posts, wasn't it? I blame the weather - no, seriously. We've had massive electrical storms just about every night for the last few weeks. It's been insane. The central section of town got closed down today because of the hail drifts - yep, that's right, hail drifts blocked all the streets and car parks. The Uni, a bunch of schools and government departments had the day off - not mine, of course.
In two weeks today that I leave for Europe - this time in a fortnight I'll be sitting in plane flying to KL, if all goes according to plan. Plane tickets are booked, accommodation in France is sorted, britrail/eurostar passes paid for - after paying that much money, it's starting to feel sort of real. Wow.
Right, I'm going to take advantage of the continuing break in the storms to actually read my flist - since there isn't a hope in hell of me actually catching up, let me know if I've missed anything vitally important?

Date: 2007-03-01 12:09 pm (UTC)Remember, I would like some pictures of cardiff, please. You better find Torchwood's HQ and hug that water feature, stomp on the perception-altering curb... all that jazz, because I sure ain't getting to Europe anytime soon. Not while family still care to see us, at least.

Date: 2007-02-28 12:07 pm (UTC)Welcome back.. drifts of hail, eh? One of the things I really like about having my own wireless network is I can stay online without endangering anything, even when the weather is crummy. I just unplug and run on battery power during the storm.

Date: 2007-03-01 11:04 am (UTC)I have wireless, but unfortunately the battery on my laptop is on its last legs and only manages about 10 minutes without being plugged in. It's been on my list of things to replace for a while now, but I've just never gotten around to it. Maybe now I finally will.

Date: 2007-03-01 01:25 am (UTC)Two weeks? Wow it's close! You will post mountains of pics when you get back and tell us all about it, right?

Date: 2007-03-01 11:07 am (UTC)The weirdest thing about this hail was the fact it it is (well, was) technically summer at the time. We do get insane storms in summer, but the fact that there was enough hail to last more than 5 minutes when it hit the ground it a novelty.
And yes, you'll get lots of picks and stories. In fact, I suspect you and everyone else will be begging me to shut up about it :)
