Gotta love having time off work. You get back, and not only do you have an inbox full of things that really should have been dealt with last week, you find out at 8am that you have meetings running from 9 to 5 the next two days. So much for getting caught up. And the grad team are being clueless bastards as usual (when it comes to Professions-Which-Exist-Only-To-Make-Lyore's-Life-A-Misery, HR is currently beating Lawyers for the top spot).

OTOH, the meeting was run by a group called BSG, there was a Capt. John Sheppard, and animatorsent me a Dilbert cartoon through the internal mail system, so that kept me amused for a while :)

I have battled the Internet Connection From Hell and emerged victorious with this week's Doctor Who, now tucked safely (hopefully) on my harddrive. Unfortunately, I then lost the battle with bob_ette over whether or not I should watch it tonight. *sigh*

Also, I have officially decided I'm not a fan of the new posting layout (yeah, it took me a while *g*) - I never remember to change my icon for posts now that it's up the top.

Ugh. Yeah, been there, done that. I had to stop taking long weekends in one job because I'd have to work a sixteen hour day the day before and the day after to get caught up. At least if you're gone for a week *some* of the crises will be handled by someone else.

But anything non-urgent will just be piled up waiting for you... and meetings. Ugh.

That was this nice thing about being away for a month - everyone had obviously gotten sick of waiting for me to get back and do things, so they'd handled it themselves. Reduces my workload nicely.

As meetings go, these ones were quite good, I guess. But still meetings.

I've been waiting patiently for you to watch Dr. Who so I can fangirl with you, as no one but my hubby and I watch it here.

And yes I have trouble remembering to switch out the icon too.
