Separation of Church and State... Part 1

I just got around to creating a journal for watch LJs of professional authors (or, more particularly, the official journals of professional authors). I've been thinking about this for a while - whether or not to do this, or to just watch them with this journal.
In the end, I decided to go for a new journal, for a variety of reasons. It's not a decision that I am altogether happy with. It's just... for all rants about RL that are filling my journal lately, this is a fandom journal at heart. I'm not comfortable with the idea of bringing it to the attention of the creators (or potential creators) of the objects of my fannishness. And yes, I know most of the authors neither track nor care who friends them; but on my part, it seems to cross a line I'm not comfortable crossing.
It's just... to me, livejournal is a fannish space. It isn't for a lot of people - it's a crafty space, or a professional space, or a personal space. I'm not comfortable bringing my fannish space into collision with their professional space. Hell, I'm not comfortable with going to actors sessions at conventions, so at least my attitude is consistent! *g*
I know whatever I put up on the internet is open to the public, and anyone who is so inclined can read it. It's all fair game. But I still prefer creators and other people professionally associated with any of my fandoms to stumble over it rather than have it drawn to their attention.
And I know this necessarily limits my potential interaction with them - which is a shame, cause some of them seem like damn good people. But I can't think of any way to handle this with one journal, except the excessive use of filters, which I don't want to do.
So, new journal.
There was another half to this entry, but it's on a different (although related) topic, and this entry is already kinda long, so I think I might leave it here for tonight.
