Time travel

lyoreHope everyone had a merry christmas/happy holidays, or in general just a damn good time. Santa (and the rels) was good to me this year - in addition to all the kitchen stuff I knew I was getting, I also got seasons 5-7 of Stargate (only 4 and 8 to go!), and the new Star Wars visual dictionary. Also 5 tea towels and 2 pot holders. Apparently people think I a) cook and b) cook messily. They might be right on the second, anyway.
On the other hand, I've had little time to keep up with all the lj-goings on, so if I haven't been commenting, that is why.
Hmmphh. The airconditioning is broken, has been since the friday before christmas. It's been 40 degrees celsius here. Not happy. May be getting fixed tomorrow, in which case I shall be very happy. This also, in an indirect way, accounts for the incoherency of this update - the heat has been playing havoc with my sleeping patterns, and I'm now in a state of permanent dazed tiredness.
In an effort to avoid the heat, my sisters and I drove for 2 and a half hours to another town, primarily to go shopping. While there I bought this book - 'Is history fiction?'. Looks pretty interesting, but the best bit? When I checked the publishing date to get an idea of how new the thing was, it says 'first published 2006'. Huh. Guess my book can time travel. Which then makes one think - If my book can time travel, doesn't that mean it should be able to get a first hand experience of all the historical events debated?
If I could go back in time, I'd stop myself from listening to the Star Wars musical. I listened to it once, almost two weeks ago, and it's still stuck in my head. Listening again now... hopefully this will help. Damn catchy tunes :)
Random observation of the day - I just want to give Adam Gilchrist a great big hug. His luck has to change sometime. But yay for Symonds!
