Just got back from seeing POTC: At World's End. All I can say is... Wow. While it isn't a perfect film by any means, it totally redeemed the steaming pile of nothing that was Dead Man's Chest. This was a worthy successor to the first film - filled with insane chaos, betrayal, uncertain loyalties, triple-and-quadruple crossing, action sequences that served the plot instead of the other way around, and most of all, it was fun.

I think I shall have more thinky-thoughts later, especially about Elizabeth, who I think is one of the most interesting female characters in a long time. But sleep first.

Definitely one to watch again - I might even borrow the second movie and rewatch it in the light of this. Hey, it might improve.

Yes. Yes yes yes. Muchly awesome in comparison to #2. And yes, double-triple-quadruple-crossing goodness and FUN.

Looking forward to your thinky-thoughts about Elizabeth. I think she's fascinating myself.

I have fewer issues with DMC if I view it as being part of the same movie. AWE wouldn't exist without it, after all (and the second two are so disconnected from the first it's kind of bizarre). But it certainly left me with long stretches of boredom.

I have to say im glad that sheman's character died! The only thing i thought was missing was that octopus dude. We needed an epic battle with chainsaws and tentacles before he dies.

Didnt that very feminine guy from lord of the rings play the guy who got brutally stabbed at the end? If so, i am very happy.
