Doctor Who, duh!

Why am I not surprised :) This is New Who only.

01. The first character I fell in love with: The Doctor. Surprise, Surprise. When he grabbed Rose's hand and said 'Run' :)
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Martha. She really grew on me. Plus I have a thing for competent assistants.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Hmm. Rose, I guess.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Mickey! I loved him in season 2...
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Rose. I think it is a combination of her changed relationship with the Doctor in season 2, and the behaviour of (some of) her online fans. I still like the character, but I used to love her.
06. The character I would shag anytime: Ten. And Jack. The Master. Or all three :)
07. The character I'd want to be like: Martha, I think. Or Reinette, apart from the ending.
08. The character I'd slap: Ten. 'Cause he can be an arrogant little prat sometimes.
09. A pairing that I love: Doctor/Jack, always. And Doctor/Master. (And also Ten/Reinette and Ten/Joan - I just love the different facets of the Doctor's character they bring out.) I'm not really an OTP kinda person, and the Doctor is absolutely someone I see with multiple 'true loves', if he decided to get involved at all.
10. A pairing that I despise: Ten/Rose. I didn't like where it took the characters. (I have a soft spot Nine/Rose, though).

Gah! I forgot to list Supernatural!

I had to include an EU character in this, 'cause she's the one character that really fits a couple of the questions.

01. The first character I fell in love with: Luke.
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Qui-Gon. Somehow this prequel character has snuck into my Original Trilogy obsessed brain.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: EU - Mara. Movie-wise, possibly Leia. While intellectually I can appreciate her character-y goodness, she's just never really clicked for me.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Obi-wan. OK, not everyone hates him, but I think he gets a lousy rap from fandom and other canon characters sometime. Not EVERYTHING which happened was his fault!
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Mara. Liked her in the first Zahn trilogy, now I cringe every time I hear her name.
06. The character I would shag anytime: Han Solo. Of course. And Luke, too.
07. The character I'd want to be like: Luke, or Obi-wan. Apparently I have a thing for duty-bound Jedi.
08. The character I'd slap: Luke, in the EU. Hell, EVERYONE in the EU. Padme in the movieverse.
09. A pairing that I love: Han/Leia.
10. A pairing that I despise: Obidala. Just... No. And I'm not huge fan of Qui-Gon/Obi-wan, but I don't despise it.

01. The first character I fell in love with: Willow, then Xander. While I always liked Buffy, it wasn't until the library scenes in Prophecy Girl (where she overhears Giles and Angel talking) that I completely fell for her.
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Faith.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Dawn, perhaps? I'm not sure how much everyone else loved her, but she drove me nuts. Mostly because she reminded me of my little sisters - except for the whole magical key thing, I guess.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: I loved Cordelia, back when she was the snarky Queen C :)
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Spike. He was brilliant when evil, interesting when reluctantly working with the Scoobies, and increasingly boring after that. But again, this is kinda influenced by fans - while I loved the incredible fucked-up-ness of Buffy and Spike in Season 6, the people promoting it as 'True, Romantic Love' kinda missed the point, IMO. And the endless 'Spike is better than Angel is better than Spike' thing got old REALLY fast.
06. The character I would shag anytime: Spike, Angelus, Giles-as-Ripper.
07. The character I'd want to be like: Giles :)
08. The character I'd slap: Season 6/7 Buffy, Season 7 Spike.
09. A pairing that I love: I still have a nostalgic love for Buffy/Angel. And Willow/Oz was the cutest thing EVA.
10. A pairing that I despise: Cutesy, fluffy Buffy/Spike. And Buffy/Giles kinda creeps me out, I guess.

Agh. This is frustrating - there are so many characters and pairings to chose from! Damn shows with large casts!

1) Prophecy Girl is one of my all time favorite episodes and seems to get lost on all the best lists in favor of showier eps like "Hush" or "The Body," so I love that you mentioned it. Those scenes in the library are just fantastic and highlight some of my issues with SMG's later acting, because she *can* be amazing.

2) I liked Faith from the beginning.

3) Do people really like Dawn? I thought she was generally reviled. I never hated her, but more or less found her unnecessary and a distraction from characters I did like (like Xander). The whole klepto thing was ridiculous and annoying though.

4) It shocks me that people might not like snarky Cordy! She was so awesome.

5) I tried to stay away from all fan reaction to Spike, because the "Spike/Buffy= true love" shippers scared me. Spike on Angel was pretty great though.

9) Nostalgic love is exactly right.

10) Eew for Buffy/Giles! He's like her father.

I think that scene in 'Prophecy Girl' is the reason I'll still defend Buffy to anyone, regardless of how annoying I find her later characterisation (and acting).

I don't know what the general consensus was on Dawn at the time, but the mod of the only Buffy list I was on loved her :)

Agh, this one is hard. Cause I loved aspects of almost all the characters...

01. The first character I fell in love with: Daniel, of course *g*
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Jonas.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Not a character, but... the Jaffa. Jaffa politics drives me nuts, even more so because it so often dominates the story lines involving Teal'c.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Umm... not sure. I don't hate Vala, does that count?
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Again, don't really know. My feelings for Sam and to a lesser extent Jack got more mixed over time, does that count?
06. The character I would shag anytime: Daniel. Jack. Sam. Teal'c. Cam... Can I just say SG-1 and leave it at that? *g*
07. The character I'd want to be like: None, really. Maybe Janet? Or some mix of bits of all of them...
08. The character I'd slap: Daniel, sometimes. Woolsey, 'cause he pretty much always deserves it.
09. A pairing that I love: Umm... I like my Stargate pretty much ship-free, thanks. Oh, I know! Catherine/Ernest! They were so cute :) And Jack/Sara, 'cause it always seems such a 'real' thing - they loved one another, things fell apart, but there is still affection and shared memories... in my private SG-1 universe, they still meet for coffee every now and then.
10. A pairing that I despise: Sam/Jack. I don't like what it does to their characterisations, I don't like the effects on the show, I don't like the way all the rest of the team is ignored in favour of it when it is there (on the show and especially in fic), I don't like either one of them giving up their careers for the other, I just DON'T LIKE IT. Ahem. Sorry 'bout that - it's one of the few ships I really dislike (although I will admit that I have occasionally seen it done well, and even enjoyed some Sam/Jack UST fics, but it will always be one I try to avoid unless I really trust the author).

Not as long as mine. Not hating Vala...hmm. I dunno. My flist ranges from wanton adoration to vile hatred, so sure what the heck. She's pretty polarizing. LOL

Heh. I *almost* put down Sam/Jack for my pairing, but it's not a pairing I "dislike" so much as I just don't get it, i.e., I don't see the chemistry between them that way. Daniel/Vala...I see the chemistry, I just don't like it. ;-)

Aw! Catherine/Earnest. They were really sweet.

Strangely enough, I'm becoming more and more tolerant of ships in reading fic (but I'm still not really into the pron, hee hee).

I'm pretty middle-of-the-road on Vala. But I DO dislike Daniel/Vala (in canon, anyway), although I too can see the chemistry.

Poor Woolsey indeed. Always picking the wrong moment to try to do the right thing, or the wrong 'right thing' to do.

My tolerance for ship in fic depends wildly on the fandom. In SG-1 it is fairly low, mostly because I'm totally in this for the team, and so often the non-ship members of the team get largely ignored. But if it's well done, I'll read it. (Unless it's Sam/Jack, in which case it needs to be REALLY well done *g*)

07. The character I'd want to be like: John, 'cause he's tough and adaptable, and generally tries something other than shooting (first, anyway). Or Aeryn, 'cause she just generally kicks arse.

I am frequently on the fence about Noranti. She is fantastic in "Terra Firma" and "Dog With Two Bones" and occasionally in other places, but sometimes makes me want to scream in frustration.

I don't get the Gilina hate. I don't love her, but she's an interesting enough character. I also thought Scorpius on Moya was not so great. I have a lot of bones to pick with Season Four.

They have pretty much all earned slaps, haven't they? :P
