1 week down, 3 to go...

Wondering how to protect yourself from psychotic killer robots? Then this is essential reading Because we all know the robot rebellion is coming
I wonder if any of those tricks would work on Daleks?

I am going to miss my subscription to New Scientist, but I really can't afford it at the moment. Not to mention that they still haven't changed my address since the last time I moved, despite numerous requests from me. Ah well, that's what a newsagent is for, I guess.

Random Observation of the Day - The airconditioner is still not fixed. NOT HAPPY, JAN.

There's a fab book in the shops - how to survive a robot rebellion - in the style of the worst-case scernario handbooks.

And new scientist is a great journal... but expensive.

I just finished reading 'I, robots' and 'Robots and Empire'
I think some of those suggestions were followed =)

Maybe it's required reading for people who want to write about robots? :)

I'll have to check it out, see if I can get it in Australia - it may be by the same guy, since the the article mentions he has written a book on the subject.

I guess since it's a weekly journal, it isn't really too bad, but still a big outlay at once.

Oh, uh... here

The zombie outbreak survival guide is also good.

Gaw, I have a weird book collection.

Hmm - going to be doing a mass order from amazon in the next month or so, may have to put it on the list. Thanks! (And it is by the same guy, incidently)

Humans unconsciously acquire a vast amount of social knowledge, such as how to stand in line, the concept of personal space and why men should wear pants to work. If the guy standing on your porch doesn't follow these rules, don't let him inside - whether he is a robot or not.

Very sage advice - I think I might stick this up at the communal front door to my block of flats.

To forestall a mechanised killing spree you must act as though nothing is amiss. When your servant hands you an old tyre half full of rainwater and mosquito larvae instead of an iced tea, simply sip politely, nod and smile.

My god, that's just what it's like when one of my colleagues tries and makes me a cup of tea at my work. Now I know - she's not human!!!

Fabulous (and very useful) stuff! :D

Yes, it does make me wonder about some of the people I knew at uni. But then, they were engineering students, so the lack of social graces is probably to be expected - we're too busy building the killer robots to pick up the intricacies of polite society :)
